The following is a partial listing in alphabetical order of the Operational Skills Group LLC de-centralized cadre of instructors – The National Training Team (NTT). A complete list of qualifications (current clearances, special projects, languages, etc.,) may be provided with adequate written notice and on agency letterhead with senior supervisory signature. David Aderhold (GA) Sergeant Aderhold is a decorated 24 year law-enforcement veteran. A graduate of Airboure School, Pathfinder School and Long Range Surveillance School he spent 16 years as a member of the U.S. Army/Army National Guard. He currently commands the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team and has been a team member since 1984. He instructs defensive tactics, Tactical Baton, M-26 taser, PepperBall, chemical munitions and tactical firearms in the state of Georgia and has taught extensively throughout the southeastern United States. Aderhold, a black belt in American Karate, also holds instructorships in both civilian and law enforcement methods of Israeli martial arts. Bradley Ahrensfield (NM) Brad Ahrensfield currently works for the Department of Energy / National Security Institute (CTA) and the Albuquerque Police Department. He is the DOE/CTA Lead Instructor and a Subject Matter Expert in Intermediate Force and non-deadly force. He also acts as a Defensive Tactics instructor at the Albuquerque Police Academy and is assigned to the SWAT team as a Sniper and Entry Team Leader. Ahrensfield has Top Secret Clearance and is graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School, Italian Airborne School, U.S. Army Airborne School, U.S. Special Forces Combat Driving School and the Long-Range Surveillance Leaders Course, and U.S.A.F. Combat Survival and Control Schools. David Barnes (GA) Sergeant Barnes is a 25 year law enforcement and military veteran. He currently coordinates training for the Marietta Police Department where he also serves as rangemaster and SRT Commander. He is a Georgia P.O.S.T. Peace Officer and Firearms Instructor. A respected instructor, he conducts firearms training throughout the southeast United States on tactical pistol, patrol rifle, and shotgun. Michael Bolender (WI) Lt. Mike Bolender is a seasoned law enforcement officer with the Oak Creek Police Department and a well respected instructor. He currently oversees all departmental Use of Force Training, is the Tactical Team Leader, and is the Third Shift Watch Commander. He is qualified to instruct Defensive Tactics, Tactical Baton, OC, Firearms, Squad Rifle, Active Countermeasures, and many other law enforcement tactics courses. Darryl Bolke (CA) Darryl Bolke is a Corporal with the Ontario, California Police Department. He has been a full-time, sworn officer since 1988. He has been assigned to his department S.W.A.T. team as a firearms instructor/armorer since 1989. He is a primary firearms instructor for all tactical firearms programs and is certified by the NRA as a Tactical Pistol, Shotgun, Patrol Rifle, and Precision Rifle instructor. He has authored numerous POST certified courses. He wrote and implemented a nationally recognized edged weapons program within his department. Cpl. Bolke has also provided tactical firearms training to the Ontario Fire Department Bomb Squad and Arson units. Cpl. Bolke has provided expert testimony on firearms related cases for the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. Cpl. Bolke spent 3.5 years as a Bicycle officer, 4 years as a Tactical Flight Officer in his agency’s Air Unit, and 8 years as an FTO. He has also done extensive high level corporate investigations as a licensed Private Investigator. Randy Cain (TN) Randy Cain is a nationally known and respected firearms instructor. He has over 40 years experience with firearms, and over 30 years experience in traditional oriental martial arts. Growing up in rural Tennessee, he roamed the fields and woods, gun-in-hand, alone and unsupervised even as a young child. He became involved in martial arts as a teenager in 1973. Randy has taught martial arts at a police academy, and has taught tactical firearms training since 1981. Throughout the 1980’s Randy was seriously devoted to the firearms training and competition. He became a sworn full-time Police Officer in 1990. He operated his own martial arts school for four years during the mid-1990’s, and in January 2000he left police work to devote his energies as a full-time tactical firearms trainer. Randy Cain has taught continuously throughout the U.S. since 2000. Randy also holds adjunct status as a Rangemaster at the prestigious Gunsite Academy in Arizona. Jonas Cortes (NY) Jonas Cortes has over 19 years of military and civilian law enforcement experience. Cortes served 6 years in the USMC as a Military Police dog handler and head K-9 trainer. Cortes also worked for the Detroit Police Department for 11 years. While working patrol in Detroit Cortes worked as a Patrol Officer, F.T.O., and Special Operations/Street Enforcement Officer. While at the Detroit Police Academy Cortes worked as a PT/DT and Use of Force Instructor training recruits as well as sworn officers. Upon being promoted Cortes returned to patrol were he worked as a Patrol Supervisor and then as a Special Operations/Street Enforcement Supervisor. Cortes currently works as a Patrol Officer for the Suffolk County Police Department on Long Island NY. Eric Dixon (GA) Eric Dixon has 17 years military and law enforcement experience and currently works for the Roswell Police Department. He is currently certified by the State of Georgia P.O.S.T. as a Detention (Jail) Officer, Peace (Police) Officer (basic, intermediate, and advanced), Field Training Officer, and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Dixon, a U.S.A.F. Security Police Honor Graduate, currently instructs Operator Ground Survival, Contact Weapon Defense, Advanced Tactical Baton, and Active Retention and Control. Damon Fay (NM) Damon Fay is a 24 year veteran of the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) in New Mexico. APD is one of the largest police departments in the southwest region of the United States, with more than 950 sworn personnel. Fay was a primary case agent for homicides, police officer involved shootings, and major violent crime cases for more than 14 years. He was a supervisor for an officer involved shooting team and either supervised or assisted in a vast number of the regions major violent crime investigations. He is a court recognized expert in Homicide Investigations and Pattern Injury Identification. He has also been a part of numerous multiple agency investigations and fugitive tracking. He is a cold case and circumstantial case specialist. He has been called upon for his expertise in complex, high profile and highly sensitive investigations by task forces, District Attorney's Offices and Police Command Staff. He retired as the Sergeant of the Advanced Training Unit of the Albuquerque Police Academy where he and his staff oversaw the specialized training and career advancement of police personnel. He is an instructor in Firearms, Defensive Tactics and Ground Fighting, Use of Force and Intermediate Use of Force, Homicide Investigation, Major Case Management, Interview and Interrogations and Contact Weapon Defense. Robert Ferguson (CA) Sergeant Robert Ferguson of the Ontario Police Department has 23 years experience and is currently the Group Supervisor for HIDTA Group 50 (a multi-agency Narcotics Task Force). A specialist in Drug Interdiction and Tactics, he is a California P.O.S.T. certified Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Firearms Instructor, and Patrol Rifle instructor. In addition Ferguson serves as the SWAT Team sniper element training coordinator and chief firearms instructor for his department. Dylan Fletcher (CA) Sgt. Fletcher has over 17 years combined Military and Law Enforcement experience. "Fletch" started in the Marine Corps. Security Forces at the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic were he received extensive in training in Anti-Terrorist operations, Hostage Rescue and Dignitary Protection, Close Quarter Combat (CQB), Layered Defensive Tactics and Security Concepts and Operation. As an Infantry Squad Leader during Dessert Storm his unit assisted in the re-capture of Kuwait City and the processing and handling of all Enemy Prisoners of War (EPW's). He is currently the Tactical Leader of a Hostage Rescue Team that covers all Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to include Youth Authority within the Central Region of California. He is recognized as one of the top Use of force and Force Options Trainers in California. He holds certification from DOJ, FBI, Colt, Strum Ruger, Beretta, ITOG, SBSD, ITR, Calif. Investigative Services Unit and Emergency Operations Unit. Danny Hamby (GA) Sgt. Dan Hamby is a 25 year veteran of the Cobb County (GA) Sheriff’s Office. His current assignment is Supervisor in charge of the Sheriff’s Office Training Unit, Departmental Range Master and Lead Firearms & Defensive Tactics Instructor. Sgt. Hamby works closely with the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy as lead Defensive Tactics Instructor and assists with Firearms Training. He is a Georgia POST Certified Peace Officer, Certified Jailer, POST Certified Departmental Training Officer, Field Training Officer, and Jail Training Officer. Sgt. Patrick S. Henry (CA) Patrick has served in the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for nine years. He has over seven years experience in the S.W.A.T./Narcotics Division. He holds Firearms related Certificates for instruction in Tactical Rappel, Live-Fire Shoot-house Training, Basic Firearms, Sub-machine gun Operator, TASER, Field Training Officer, Defensive Tactics, and FLETC. He has taught numerous courses in Building Entry Tactics, Basic and Advanced Firearms, Sub-Machine-gun operations, Simmunitions training, Tactical Rappel, and Cell Extractions. He has developed and presented POST Certified Lesson plans and initiated several Department Policies and Standard Operating Procedure Manuals. Chad Huffman (CA) A specialist in protective details, Staff Sergeant Huffman trained 3rd Us Marine Air Wing personnel in defensive tactics and weapon systems prior to their deployment to OIF 1 and trains MPs in many areas of daily mission. Huffman himself was deployed for nine (9) months to OIF I and then OIF II for two Major Generals as their PSO. He additionally worked as SNCOIC of the MWSG 37, MWSS 373 Armory maintaining thousands of weapon systems keeping all systems operational and ready for deployment. Mr. Huffman’s Personal decorations include 1 Navy and Marine Corps Accommodation Medal, 2 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, 1 Combat Action Ribbon and 2 CG Certificates of Commendation. Huffman is additionally a USMC RSO, M1014 Combat Shotgun Instructor, Non-Lethal Weapons Instructor, MP-5 Submachine Gun Instructor, Marine Corps Pistol and Rifle Coach Primary Marksman Instructor and a graduate of the FBI SWAT Academy. Jerry Huffman (CA) Serving the professional law enforcement training community for more than 15 years, Jerry Huffman remains active as Rangemaster and Armorer for Santa Ana Police Department (CA). Mr. Huffman additionally serves on staff as a Rangemaster at the prestigious Gunsite Academy (AZ). President and founder of the Force Options Institute (CA), Mr. Huffman sustains and supports physical training for federal, state and local law enforcement and criminal justice training academies. Aside from a stellar firearms training history, Mr. Huffman is a respected Senior Level Defensive Tactics Instructor who’s background includes extensive Defensive Tactics training and comprehensive martial arts instructorships such as his instructorship in Brazilian JiuJitsu (Brown-belt via the Machado family system), Jun Fan Gung Fu/ Jeet Kune Do (Instructor under Sifu Dan Inosanto), Filipino Martial Arts (instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto), Combat Submission Wrestling Instructor (under Erik Paulson) and a vast number of other martial arts training dating back to the early 1970’s. Bob Ingersoll (CA) Now retired from Seaside Police Department, Mr. Ingersoll has over 20 years of experience in the professional Law Enforcement and Loss prevention fields. He holds an A.S. Degree in Administration of Justice. His law enforcement assignments have included, FTO, Investigator, Narcotics Investigator, Emergency Response Team Supervisor and Rangemaster. Ingersoll is the owner and Director of Training for Defensive Arts Academy and founder of the Combative Arts Association. He currently holds the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt in Hapkido. He is a certified defensive tactics instructor and certified Taser instructor. Mr. Ingersoll recently returned to law enforcement as a Reserve Police Investigator with the City of Del Rey Oaks Police Department, where his assignments include Investigation Unit and Special Response Team (SRT) member. He has also served as a defensive tactics consultant for the National Police Academy in San Jose, Costa Rica. Timothy J. Ito (NV) Timothy Ito has served in the United States Army, for the Paulding County Sheriff (GA), for the Powder Springs Police Department (GA), and for private companies. He is a trained instructor in TACTICAL BATON, defensive tactics, OC, firearms, patrol rifle, and Gracie Ground Control. Ito was the Paulding County (GA) Sheriff’s Department SWAT Perimeter Team Leader and a departmental training officer. He received the Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Medal of Valor in 2003. He holds instructor certificates in and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Jeremy A. James (MI) Sergeant James is an 11-year veteran of the Detroit Police Department (D.P.D.), and has earned 15 instructor certifications during his tenure as a Physical Training/Defensive Tactics Instructor, at the Detroit Metropolitan Police Academy. He has traditional Korean martial arts experience, which he began in 1985, and competed within the Great Lakes Region during the early 1990’s. While instructing thousands of new recruits and sworn members at the Academy, Sergeant James implemented several new programs including Simunitions, Redman, and the Log P.T. Program, inspired by NAVSPECWARCEN-BUDS. He also created, designed and implemented the D.P.D.’s first and continuing Officer Survival Course, in 2002, which resulted in a six-month waiting list by Detroit Police Officers during it’s inception. In 2004, he was the youngest promoted officer in his class of 91 members, and currently offers his expertise in Fatal and Non-Fatal Use of Force by Detroit Police Officers, as a Sergeant with the Force Investigation Unit, which is monitored by the Department of Justice. He continues to host in-service training to sworn members in Defensive Tactics, Edged Weapon Defense, Weapon Retention/Disarming, and Ground Defense. James A. Koury (GA) Serving for more than 16 years as a law enforcement officer in the state of Georgia, Sergeant Jim Koury of Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is a specialist in the area of Canine Operations and Deployment. Deputy Koury is an instructor in numerous areas of police work including Canine Explosives Detection, Canine Narcotics Detection, Long Range Surveillance and is additionally a Weapons of Mass Destruction Instructor. Well-versed in the areas of low-light combat, less-than-lethal devices, ASP, OC and Incident Command, Jim is invaluable to Cherokee County’s departmental in-service training. With more than 2,500 hours of GA POST Certified training under his belt, Jim Koury is one of the most sought-after and respected instructors in the state. Tim Lau (CA) Tim Lau is a full time law enforcement officer with a municipal department in Los Angeles County, CA, serving as a night shift patrolman and department Rangemaster. Tim is an instructor for EAG General Enterprises, Inc. and Gunsite Academy, along with other national training providers. He holds instructor certifications from FBI, NRA, Surefire, Simunitions, CA POST, and teaches Edged Weapons, Pistol, Carbine, Shotgun and Submachine Gun. In addition, Tim has over a decade of martial arts experience, including Aikido, Filipino Martial arts, Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Indonesian Silat, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. David Lauck (WY) A veteran Law Enforcement Officer with over two decades of experience, has served as SWAT Countersniper, Team Leader, Lead Patrol Officer, Special Investigator, expert witness and SWAT Weapon and Duty Weapon Armorer, owner and operator of D&L Sports, Inc., Officer Dave Lauck is the sole gunsmith at D&L Sports. It is not a production line shop for one simple reason: Quality Control. It is not the goal of D&L Sports to be the biggest custom shop. D&L's goal is to be the best! Mr. Lauck is a formally trained and certified armorer, with over 30 years of experience in special purpose firearms. In 2001 Lauck customized two gold inlayed presentation handguns for President Bush and Vice President Cheney. In 2003 Lauck customized a personal 1911 for General Tommy Franks to recognize his leadership of American combat troops. Dave Lauck is a Police and NRA certified Firearms instructor, as well as a contact weapon instructor and WY POST certified practitioner/lecturer in SWAT and in counter sniper tactics. Dave Lauck has also served as a firearms instructor for the National Shooting Sports Foundation and Hollywood's Stunt Person Organization. As founder of the S.A.T.A. he has provided services for members of state, local, and federal police, USMC, Army, National Guard, Rangers, Seals and qualified civilians. In 2002 Lauck received a Golden Eagle Award from the U.S. military for professional firearms training. In 2003 he was selected as chief sniper instructor for the 2004 World SWAT Conference. Christopher L. Lutrell (NM) Serving as a Deputy and then as State Police Officer, New Mexico State Police Tactical Team member Chris Lutrell has been serving the State of New Mexico since 1993. With more than 12 years of experience in rural and urban law enforcement, Lutrell is additionally a specialist in Executive protection providing training services for the Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program Training Center at the US DOE NNSI at KAFB, Albuquerque, NM, where he is responsible for live fire training operations and defensive tactics. Chris is additionally an Adjunct Instructor at the US Department of Energy Office of Secure Transportation where he trains US DOE and other federal, state and local agency personnel in driving, the use of firearms, tactical response and crises resolution. He is an adjunct instructor for the US Department of Justice Criminal Division International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program. In addition to his responsibilities as SWAT officer and federal training consultant Chris Lutrell is currently responsible for instructing students on intermediate force and firearms. Chris is US DOE CTA Firearms Instructor and Intermediate Force Instructor Certified as well as an FBI Instructor Development course graduate. Martone (TN) Martone currently works for US DOE Agent Operations Eastern Command (under contract to Wackenhut Services Inc.). Employed in transportation safeguards for the government since 1991, Martone is currently a defensive tactics, firearms, and special response team instructor, providing low-profile operational development training to federal agents on staff at the Direct Action Resource Center (DARC). Jeff is additionally on staff at the U.S. D.O.E. Nonproliferation and National Security Institute (Central Training Academy) Security Force Training Dept. at Kirtland Air Force Base (NM) as well as a state certified instructor in general police firearms, SWAT and defensive tactics via New Mexico. Ryan Mayfield (CA) Ryan Mayfield works with the Modesto, CA Police Department. He is CA POST certified and has earned the Tactical Edge Award. Ryan trains SWAT and in-service offers in defensive tactics.Ryan is one of two lead snipers on the PD SWAT team. Ryan has spent the last 21 years training in martial arts, including Kenpo, Kajukenbo, and Western Boxing, Kickboxing (Muay-Thai and full-Contact), Greco-Roman Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. John Maynard (WV) Senior level Defensive Tactics instructor and professional kickboxer, John Maynard is one of only two people in the world certified by both World Champions Joe Lewis and Chuck Norris. John is the recipient of numerous honorable awards including five time U.F.A.F. (United Fighting Arts Federation) Champion, two time Chuck Norris Competitor of the Year award, and various awards for his outstanding work in the professional law enforcement training community. John was personally trained by Chuck Norris and is additionally a Regional Director for U.F.A.F. As one of the originators of Kickbox Fitness ®, John trained extensively with and continues to work as a personal sparring partner for Joe Lewis. John Maynard also has extensive experience in the field of security work. Providing Executive / High Profile security for the likes of Screen Gems Studios, and similar clients, John remains active in the personal protection community. In addition, John continues to work extensively as a contractor for US federal and law enforcement agencies teaching hard skills as a member of the Operational Skills Group, LLC. Pete Melanson (CA) Pete Melanson is a veteran of over 25 years in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department and has recently retired from law enforcement. His assignments Included Patrol, Search and Rescue, Special Operations, as well as an Investigator for the Property Crimes Unit, Narcotics and Vice Division, Domestic Violence, Crimes Against the Elderly and Children and Supervisor of the Homicide/Robbery Unit. Pete paralleled his law enforcement career with a strong dedication to the martial art of Kenpo. Pete possesses experience and expertise in the areas of defensive tactics; arrest and control techniques; personnel, vehicle, and building searches; patrol operations; field interview concepts; investigative case management; surveillance operations; and officer survival mindset. Andy Moody (VA) Mr. Moody, retired MSgt United States Marine Corps, has over 25 years of military and law enforcement experience as an Operator, Instructor, and Training Developer. He is a certified instructor in small arms weapons (i.e., rifle, pistol, shotgun, machine gun, crew-served weapons), close quarter battle (CQB), high risk personnel (HRP), and tactics. Mr. Moody has developed and implemented several Marine Corps-wide training programs in marksmanship and defensive tactics. Training development includes mission/needs analysis, courses of fire, range commands, lecture materials, targetry design, performance scenarios, and simulation research. Mr. Moody was the recipient of the Distinguished Rifle Badge, Distinguished Pistol Badge, Carlos N. Hathcock Award, and the President’s 100. Manuel "MOE" Morales (CA) Moe Morales has worked 19 years with the California Department of Corrections and is currently assigned to Salinas Valley State Prison as the armory Officer. For the past 18 years Moe has been involved with the prisons (SWAT-TEAM) known as the Crisis Response Team (CRT) as the Assault Squad Leader. Moe is one of the State's lead instructor's for the CRT teams basic and advance Academies. A Senior Range master he holds instructor level certifications in Law Enforcement Firearms, Chemical Agents, Less Lethal Weaponry, Specialty Impact Munitions (Def/Tec), ASP Baton, Use of Force, as well as a NRA Firearms Instructor. Moe specializes in Alarm Response and Cell extractions and was responsible for training and implementing these programs that are currently being used. He works with various manufactures developing and testing chemical agents delivery systems. In addition Moe has been involved in several High Risk Prisoner Transports / Undercover Operations dealing with high profile operations. Bryan Morgan (GA) Currently employed by the Fulton County Police Department Officer Morgan has more than ten years law enforcement experience in the field. Morgan served five years as a Military Police with the 190th Military Police Company in the Georgia Army National Guard. He also instructed unarmed self defense classes while assigned to the unit and is currently the Lead Defensive Tactics Instructor for his department. Morgan has fifteen years of martial arts training and holds a black belt rank in the C.U.M.A. (Comprehensive Unarmed Martial Arts) system. He is also State of Georgia law enforcement POST certified and holds current certifications as a General Law Enforcement Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Oleoresin Capsicum Instructor, Expandable Baton Instructor and Special Weapons and Tactics. Jim Morgan (CA) Sergeant Jim Morgan is a twenty five year veteran of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. He has over 27 years experience in training and tactical operations. His assignments have included N.C.O.I.C of Security for a Marine Corps Nuclear Ordinance Platoon, Range Master and entry team leader during a hostage rescue. The Use of Force program he helped create in the 1990’s has been a model for many Department's to follow in preparing their officers for the challenges of modern Law Enforcement. In 2000, as the supervisor of the Force Option Training Unit, he was responsible for training over 2,200 officers every four months with this comprehensive program. His training team was recognized with the California Governor's Award for Innovative training. In addition to his lifetime teaching credential, Jim has instructor certificates in most of the force options and tactical skills. Brian Scott Oldham (IN) Sergeant Oldham has served as part of departmental tactical unit for 13 years serving in numerous capacities including team commander and holds multiple instructor certifications from various entities including the State of Indiana. Scott has served as K9 officer for 14 years with dogs certified for patrol operations and narcotics detection and was additionally responsible for inception and administration of departmental K9 program. Having served as a primary instructor for numerous tactical courses that have been attended by officers from over 50 different agencies from several states, Mr. Oldham has published over 30 articles in magazines such as SWAT, Law and Order, Tactical Response, and the Indiana Swat Officers Association Newsletter and has written policy concerning weapons, tactics and use of force for home agency. Oldham has been a guest lecturer at Indiana University on numerous occasions lecturing on police culture, use of force and search and seizure issues. Throughout tenure with the Bloomington Police Department has Sergeant Oldham been involved in, planned and lead numerous tactical operations including resolution of incidents involving barricaded suspects, high risk warrant service and the rescue of persons held hostage as well as was responsible for planning and supervision during several mass crowd control incidents that in some cases escalated into riots. Chad Pierce (NM) Having been a New Mexico State Police Officer for close to nine years working as a patrolman, three years were spent as a member of the Tactical Team. Pierce had a duel role on the team including an entry team member as well as a counter sniper. Frederick Platt Jr. (IL) Fred Platt, currently assigned to the Department of Homeland Security, has 16 years of combined military and law enforcement experience as an Operator, Instructor, and Supervisor. A former SEAL Team Member, Platt is highly skilled in special security operations with expertise in Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Combat Diving, Firearms, Demolitions, Sniper Operations, Tactics, Less-Lethal Weapons, Personal/Physical Security, Executive Protection, Counter-Terrorism and Parachute Operations. Platt, a certified Federal and State Firearms Instructor, also possesses an instructor’s certificate as a Naval Special Warfare Sniper Instructor. He also has extensive experience in the martial arts of Hapkido, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Filipino Martial Arts, and Jeet Kune Do. Thomas Rovetuso (IL) Deputy Thomas Rovetuso has been a member of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office since 1986 and is currently assigned to the Highway Patrol Division. As an 18 year veteran, he has been a member of the L.C.S.O. Tactical Response Team for 17 years, currently holding the position of Team Leader/Sniper Coordinator. He has extensive training and experience in Police Special Operations and Police Sniping. Additionally he is a Senior Defensive Tactics Instructor, Senior Firearms Instructor, Police Carbine Rifle Instructor, O.C. Spray Instructor, Taser Instructor, Pepperball Instructor and Simunition Scenario Instructor. He has trained in the martial arts since 1977 and holds a Second Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon-Do as well as extensive experience in Filipino Martial Arts and Muay Thai Kickboxing. He served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry Sergeant and is a Gulf War Veteran. Rick Slater (CA) Rich Slater has been employed as a California Corrections Officer since 1989. Slater, a former assault squad member, is currently assigned as an observer (marksman) on the Salinas Valley State Prison Special Emergency Response Team. John Spezzano (CA) John Spezzano is a martial artist with over 25 years of experience. He has been a staff instructor at the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts in Los Angeles, CA, since 1995 where he teaches regular classes in Filipino Martial Arts, Muay Thai, Pencak Silat, Boxe Francaise Savate, and Jeet Kune Do. In addition to his classes at the Inosanto Academy, and private students around greater Los Angeles, John also teaches seminars around the country and in the United Kingdom. Steve Tarani (CA) Internationally respected Contact Weapons and personal safety expert, Steve Tarani is a full-time defensive tactics instructor and author who provide high-profile operational skills consultation and training for various law enforcement and military agencies worldwide. His training courses have been accepted as standard curriculum for a number of federal and state-accredited programs within the criminal justice training community. Currently sworn in the State of California and serving on staff as Senior Defensive Tactics and a firearms instructor for Del Rey Oaks Police Dept., Tarani is the Director of Training for Operational Skills Group, LLC / Contact Defense Division), on staff at the U.S. D.O.E. Nonproliferation and National Security Institute (Central Training Academy) Security Force Training Dept. at Kirtland Air Force Base and on staff at the prestigious Gunsite Academy. Jotham “Jay” Tuttle (IN) Jay Tuttle is the director of training for the Cumberland Indiana Police Department. He is an Indiana State certified firearms and defensive tactics instructor as well as an adjunct instructor at Gunsite Academy, Paulden Arizona. Along with an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps Mr. Tuttle additionally holds a Masters degree in business administration and a black belt in American Moo Duk Kwan Association, and as well as a Contact Weapons Defense instructor. Joel Vettel (ND) Sgt. Joel Vettel, a licensed North Dakota Peace Officer since 1997, is a member of the Fargo Police Department. Mr. Vettel holds instructor certifications in Defensive Tactics, OC, Tactical Handcuffing, Ground Control, M26 and X26 Taser and Simmunitions. He is additionally a three time NCAA National Wrestling All-American (1992-1994) and holds a M.S. from the University of Mary. Mick Williams (IN) Mick Williams is a ten year veteran of law enforcement. He has spent the last eight years with the Bloomington, In Police Department. Mick is the supervisory Sgt. Assigned to the patrol division. Mick is a member of the entry element of the Critical Incident Response Team and also coordinates and oversees all training on the Team. He helped develop the course design for BPD’s Basic S.W.A.T. School and other departmental officer survival programs. He is certified instructor in Handgun, Patrol Rifle, Shotgun, Less Lethal Impact munitious, O.C., Defensive Tactics, and Emergency Vehicle Operations. Mick is a frequent contributor to Law & Order, Tactical Response, and S.W.A.T. magazines. Mick has studied the martial arts for twenty years, holding instructor credentials in Jun Fan Gung-Fu and Filipino Martial Arts under Guro Dan Inosanto. Mick is also a Representative of Erik Paulson’s Combat Submission Wrestling. He also trained in Modern Armis, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Hap Ki do, and Tae Kwon Do. Mike Walden (FL) MIke Walden is a 30 year Law Enforcement veteran. During his tenure at the Lakeland (FL) Police Department, he was assigned to the Special Weapons and Tactics team as the Team Leader. He also served as the departments Firearms and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Mike went on to work for Heckler and Koch in Virginia after his retirement from Law Enforcement as the lead firearms instructor for H&K. He is currently an instructor for the Department of Defense and the Polk Community College in Florida. Billy G. Wilson (TN) Mr. Wilson has an extensive martial arts and close quarter combative instructor background. He has instructed while in the U.S. Marine Corps, and for Federal Law Enforcement as well as in several fighting styles. He has developed a variety of defensive tactics training courses for both the private sector and Government. Mr. Wilson is a former U.S. Marine Corps fighter pilot. He flew F/A-18 Combat missions in Bosnia and Iraq, as well as extensive Aircraft Carriers operations. He has served as an Instructor in all phases of operational training as such. He currently serves in the Marine Corps Reserve. Additionally, he is a pilot for a major Airline and has developed an industry leading counter terrorist program for flight crews. Mr. Wilson’s unique background in close quarter defensive tactics combined with his aviation expertise has made him a highly sought after commodity. He runs TACAIR Inc., an aviation security consulting firm that works with Universities, Government, and the Private sector. He has been instrumental in the development of several current federal programs for aviation security. He is an adjunct instructor for federal DT and firearms training, which utilizes his expertise in operating confined spaces and unique environments.
